Your New Tasks:
The European Medical Director (m/f) co-represents MDCO including the value and standards we stand for from a medical perspective. Supporting customers on a medical level he/she aims at understanding their business, their medical aims and constraints, what they need for improving health outcomes, while maintaining or reducing cost, educating and developing their staff and being involved in innovation through research and development activities. He/she will also be expected to be a content expert and serve as resource to Business Development, Clinical Affairs, and the Management Committee.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the project/team liaison to health care providers in different European countries for clinical/scientific issues and provide medically/scientifically sound answers in a timely manner and support educational activities where deep clinical and therapeutic knowledge is required
- Identify and develop key opinion and work to keep them abreast of the latest scientific information
- Develop a network of speakers in major markets across Europe who are knowledgeable about the therapeutic area, our products and alternative products
- Work closely with Medical Information, Safety, Regulatory and R&D teams to ensure appropriate reporting of complaints/issues and keep those teams abreast of developments in the field that may require a clinical response from the company
- Provide scientific knowledge for internal communication for national and regional education
- Communicate appropriate sites for future phase IIIB/IV programs and provide support to active study sites, serve as a liaison between customers interested in submitting investigator initiated projects and appropriate internal personal.
Your Know-how:
- Minimum of 9 years in Clinical Science, during the last years preferably as a Clinical Science Manager or Medical Director
- Minimum 5 years of post graduate experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry
- Thorough knowledge of interventional and clinical cardiology strongly preferred
- Experience in drug development and drug launch in multiple geographies
- Strong Advanced degree (PharmD, Phd, MD, MS, RN) in life sciences is strongly preferred, or a Bachelors degree with equivalent work experience
- Ability to provide guidance and interpretation of OIG regulations and PhRMA guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and presentation skills
- Demonstrated track record of providing excellent customer service and customer relationship management
- Absolute integrity and a strong ethical compass committed to upholding organizational values
- Fluent English and German required
- Significant experience in the international life sciences industry including supporting regulatory bodies
- Boundary-less mindset, global thinking
- Professional maturity and a depth and breadth of business acumen
